Notes

CREATING CHARACTERS FROM YOUR PERSONAL/CULTURAL IDENTITY
The best characters are sourced in our own personal experience, but it can be scary to go there. This is a workshop dedicated to creating a safe space to explore characters that emerge from your own personal identity and experience (ie cultural, racial, gender, sexual identites). Yeah, it's risky. That's why it needs a dedicated class. Students must submit a short paragraph of what they want to work on.

There are no prerequisites for this class.

2 sessions, $110

This class aims to create a safe space to explore character work rooted in personal and cultural identity. This means that themes related to race, gender, gender identity, sexuality, and personal lived experience will be expressed and creatively mined. In order to create a space that's conducive to support, respect, exploration and growth, you will be asked to participate with openness and readiness to explore your own potentially vulnerable material, as well as to support in witnessing your classmates'. A brief written submission will be requested ahead of time to help prepare us for a supportive and intentional environment.
